Development for stable procurement of clean energy

Tokyo Boeki Engineering, Ltd., Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and Japan Ship Technology Research Association have collaboratively developed the world-first loadingarm for transferring liquefied hydrogen from a carrier to an on-shore storage facility, as part of the Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP)promoted by the Cabinet Office of Japan for the recovery of Japanese economy and realization of sustainable growth.
While liquefied hydrogen is expected as clean energy that has no emissions of CO2, it's hard to handle because it must be stored at extremely low temperature of -253 degrees. However, we have resolved this issue with the technologies of manufacturing loading arms and new thermal insulation technologies over 50 years. We will aim for the realization of a sustainable society by further developing technologies, going forward.

Selected as one of "Companies Taking on Zero-Emission Challenge"

We have been participating in "Development of Technologies for Realizing a Hydrogen Society", the project to build the world's first full-scale hydrogen supply chain, establish energy supply system flexibility, and contribute to ensuring energy security implemented by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Our contribution to this project through the development of the loading arm for transferring liquefied hydrogen from a carrier to an on-shore storage facility was evaluated, and our company was selected as one of "Companies Taking on Zero-Emission Challenge" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in October 2020.
We will continuously challenge the realization of a decarbonized society, utilizing the development/manufacturing technologies that we have cultivated through long years, going forward.
