Joint development of compact gas differential pressure power generation equipment that utilizes unused energy

TB Global Technologies Ltd. has jointly developed a small turbine generator (FreeSpin® In-line Turboexpander) with Sapphire Technologies Inc. in the United States to recover energy loss in the gas decompression process.

Using this turbine generator, we developed a compact and low-cost gas differential pressure power generation system (jointly with Toho Gas Co., Ltd.) which can recover the energy loss (unused energy) at the depressurization process in the route of city gas transportation.

The system was introduced to the Yokkaichi LNG terminal of Toho Gas Co., Ltd., and after the commissioning, the continuous operation started from the spring of 2023.
